SPECIAL NOTES: This week's Top 10 does not have a #1 (for the 9th
week in WABC's Top 40 history) or numbers 3 and 4. The general
consensus is that #1 is probably "I Love Rock 'n Roll" by Joan
Jett & the Blackhearts, on the Boardwalk label. "Centerfold" by
the J. Geils Band, on EMI America, is most likely #3, while #4 is
probably "We Got the Beat" by the Go-Go's (on I.R.S.). These
songs were never played on WABC, which had softened its format to
a more Adult Contemporary sound by early 1982.
"Talkin' Baseball" by Terry Cashman (at #38) is the national, or
generic version. WABC often played the New York Yankees' version.
